Minutes-2 /12/1986

The Tiffin City Council met in regular session on Wednesday, February 12, 1986 at the Tiffin fire station. Mayor Potter called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members present were Flansburg, Morgan, Runge, Stevens and Stoner. Also present were Mick and Tammy Kahler, Carrie Stratton, Melvin Reeve, Mike Hoyt and Vickie Keith. Motion Morgan second Runge to approve agenda. Carried unanimously. Motion Stevens second Flansburg to approve minutes of January 7, 1986 and February 5, 1986. Carried unanimously. Motion Stevens second Runge to approve issuance of building permit to Michael Kahler for 16 foot by 65 foot with attached deck manufactured home on lot an south end of alley to the east of Summerhays Street subject to granting of variances by Board of Adjustment. Carried unanimously. Motion Runge second Stoner to approve issuance of permit to operate Clear Creek Mobile Home Park to Ray Scheetz for calendar year 1986. Carried unanimously. Motion Morgan second Runge to approve request by Dan Wilkerson and Greg Stevens for renewal of Class "C" liquor license for Slim's Saloon effective March 1, 1986. Roll call vote: Flansburg, aye; Morgan, aye; Stevens, aye; Runge, aye; Stoner, aye. Carried unanimously. Motion Stoner second Morgan to approve two year contract for garbage collection with Iowa City Cleanup and Transfer for $425.00 per month effective July 1, 1986. Carried unanimously. Motion Morgan second Flansburg to approve salary increase for clerk-treasurer to $7.40 per hour based on 20 hour work week effective July 1, 1986. Council set date for public hearing on FY '87 budget estimate as Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at 6:45 p.m. Motion Flansburg second Morgan to approve clerk-treasurer's reports. Carried unanimously.
