Minutes October 8, 1986 north of highway no. 6. The city needs a long term lease in order to comply with the LawCom Grant application and the school wants a short term lease in case it needs to cash in on the property. The school also had problems with the amount of liability insurance the city could carry. The school is interested in selling the ground on contract. The last appraisal was at $50,000.00 to $60,000.00. The law has recently been changed to allow cities to buy with lease/purchase agreements. Flansburg expressed concern that the ground was not big enough to allow an adult softball field under the terms of the grant. Motion Flansburg second Stoner not to pursue the lease or purchase of the ground north of highway no. 6 owned by the Clear Creek School, at this time, due to lack of agreement on terms of the lease and lack of money to purchase the property. Carried unanimously. Potter will contact the Board of Supervisors to discuss methods of decreasing truck traffic through Tiffin. Potter reported that he received complaints about phone service in Tiffin and directed clerk to write to General Telephone Company about concerns. Motion Stoner second Runge to approve clerk-treasurer's reports. Carried unanimously. Motion Flansburg second Stratton to approve bills and accepts receipts. Carried unanimously. Motion Morgan second Stoner to adjourn at 7:35 p.m. Carried unanimously. GLENN R. POTTER, MAYOR ADELIA S. KERN, CLERK-TREASURER
