I want to thank you for your offer of providing health insurance. It is difficult for me to know what answer I should give you in this regard. At present, health insurance is provided to me with the school in my part time position. At this date health insurance is not a benefit that I need. As some of you may know, the school is undergoing a study of how to reduce school costs, and my situation could change in the future. At this date the school has not announced any changes.
Because of this and some personal concerns, I feel that I will decline health insurance at this time and would continue in the current salaried part time position at Step 23.5. I realize our town is growing and my workload is increasing. I do not expect that this is the last time we will be discussing these concerns. Perhaps we can revisit city growth and increase in clerk job responsibilities a year from now. At that time, I may be asking the city to consider the addition of a water billing assistant or deputy clerk. A lot will depend on how quickly we grow.
