Blish sewer hook-up has not yet been completed. Engineer Hart reported on possible IDOT hook in to city sewer mains and what would be necessary to make this happen. Plans and specifications for the new wastewater plant have been reviewed and approved by the Department of Natural Resources. Notice of specifications and bid letting will be published for the next regular meeting of May 12, 1999. Storm sewers plugged with building debris will be checked into by the city engineer. Easement procurement and survey work will be undertaken by Hart Engineering for sidewalk work needed along the north side of Highway #6 between Summerhays and Stephans. Rodney Walls explained the preliminary recreation equipment and layout for the new park area. Walls would like to try planning in the area before recommending permanent installations. Vic Zender indicated that he thought he had room for two soccer fields in the vicinity of his buildings east of the city, and asked if the city would have any objections to him mowing and preparing the ground for that type of use. City Councilmembers so no problem with soccer fields on his property. Engineer Hart recommended additional work to sewer lines along Summerhays and Brown, he suspects That a great amount of storm water is entering the sewer lines in this vicinity and causing problems for the sewer plant tests during high water run off periods. Motion Ryan, second Gericke to accept the clerk and treasurer's reports. Ayes: Walls, Gericke and Ryan. Nays: None. Absent; Kern, and Bartels. Motion carried. Motion Gericke, second Walls to pay bills and accept receipts. Ayes: Gericke, Walls, and Ryan. Nays: None. Absent: Bartels, and Kern. Motion carried. Building Inspector Greg Schott reported that no final occupancy permit has been issued to 400 North Stephans Street at this time. Motion Gericke, second Ryan to adjourn. Motion carried. 8:00 p.m.
