Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission June 2, 1999 A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffin Fire Station by Chair Dan O'Halloran. Members present: Chair Dan O'Halloran, Steve Berner, and Melvin Reeves. Members absent: Tina Walls and Terry Richardson. Also present: Mayor Glenn Potter, Vic Zender and Jim Bartels. Motion Berner, second Reeves to approve printed minutes. Ayes: Reeves, O'Halloran, and Berner. Absent: Walls, and Richardson. Motion carried. Members reviewed the Tiffin Land Use Plan and decided that Land Use Plans for other communities should be reviewed for comparison. The review work will include study of the current Land Use Map. The Mayor provided information to the commission about plans for new soccer fields in the new park area for the city. Vic Zender has done the seeding work for the two fields. One field is located on city property, the other field is located on the Vic Zender property. Chair O'Halloran commented that he felt it was time for Tiffin to once again review its situation and provide new direction for growth and the manner for city growth. Study of current Land Use Plans is one way to begin this effort. Motion Berner, second O'Halloran to recommend to Tiffin City Council that annexation matters should be pursued and encouraged on the outer edges of the city. Growth by Tiffin along boundary interchange exits could provide financing for services desired by Tiffin residents. Ayes: O'Halloran, Reeves, and Berner. Absent: Walls, and Richardson.
