Cathy Kee was present to answer questions in regard to rezoning request Z9940 in Johnson County. The request is for a location near Jasper Avenue south of Highway #6 and north of I-80 where they hope to build a new home. Motion Bartels, second Walls to approve application Z9940 for Gary and Cathy Kee to Johnson County. Ayes: Walls, Kern, Ryan, Gericke, and Bartels. Motion carried. Motion Gericke, second Kern to accept a annual report for year ending 6-30-1999 and direct the city clerk to file with State of Iowa as mandated by law. Ayes: Kern, Ryan, Gericke, Bartels, and Walls. Motion carried. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to approve a RESOLUTION #1999-36 approving BUDGET AMENDMENT for year ending 6-30-2000. Budget amendment providing for no change in tax asking. Budget amendment filed with Johnson County Auditor's Office. Ayes: Bartels, Walls, Gericke, Kern, and Ryan. Motion carried. On the 13th day of October, 1999 at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced Ordinance No. 1999-231, an ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIALS COMPENSATION ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING FOR INCREASE FOR MAYOR COMPENSATION, and moved that it be given its first reading and was then read. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Bartels. Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 1999-231 was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Gericke and seconded by Councilperson Kern that the laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered and voted on for passage at two council meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended and dispensed with and that Ordinance No. 1999-231, entitled, ORDINANCE AMENDING COMPENSATION FOR OFFICIALS, be placed on its last reading. Ayes: Bartels, Walls, Ryan, Kern and Gericke. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and ordinance No. 1999-231, ORDINANCE AMENDING COMPENSATION FOR OFFICIALS, was then placed on its last reading and was read the last time. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Ryan, and seconded by Councilperson Walls, that Ordinance #1999-231, entitled, ORDINANCE AMENDING COMPENSATION FOR OFFICIALS, and providing for increase in Mayor compensation to $2,600 per year plus per meeting amount, be placed upon its final passage and placed for adoption. Ayes: Kern, Ryan, Walls, Bartels, and Gericke. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and the Ordinance was passed and adopted.
