Tiffin City Council December 8, 1999 A regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council was brought to order by Mayor Glenn R. Potter, 6:30 p.m. at the Tiffin Fire Station on December 8, 1999. Council present: Alan Kern, Mike Gericke, Jim Bartels, Rodney Walls and Mike Ryan arriving 6:35 p.m. Also present: Attorney Stephen Greenleaf, Engineer Mike Hart, Building Inspector Greg Schott, Planning and Zoning Member Melvin Reeve. Motion Gericke, second Kern to approve the printed minutes and agenda. Ayes: Bartels, Walls, Kern and Gericke. Absent: Ryan. Motion carried. Motion Gericke, second Bartels to approve a RESOLUTION # 1999-39, A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING OFFER TO PURCHASE PROPERTY. Ayes: Walls, Gericke, Bartels, and Kern. Absent: Ryan. Motion carried. A Public Hearing was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Mayor Glenn R. Potter for the purpose of hearing input either in favor of or against a proposed budget amendment of the zoning ordinance changin C-1 along Highway #6 to C-2 zoning. There were no citizens present that spoke either in favor of or against said proposal. Public Hearing closed at 6:36 p.m. Motion Kern, second Gericket to reconvene the regular meeting of the regular session of the Tiffin City Council at 6:36 p.m. Ayes: Gericke, Walls, Kern, Bartels, and Ryan. Ryan arriving at 6:35 p.m. Motion carried. On the 8th day of December, 1999, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Walls introduced Ordinance No. 1999-232, an ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND CHANGING CERTAIN C-1 PROPERTY TO C-2 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF TIFFIN ZONING MAP, and moved that it be given its first reading an was then read. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Kern. Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R. Potter declared the motion carried, and ORDINANCE NO. 1999-232 was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Gericke and seconded by Councilperson Ryan that the laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered and read at two meetings prior to passage be suspended and dispensed with and that ORDINANCE NO. 1999-232 , entitled, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING FOR CHANGE OF ZONING ALONG HWY FROM C-1 TO C-2 AND AMENDMENT OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN ZONING MAP, be placed on its last reading. Ayes: Bartels, Ryan, Walls, Gericke and Kern. Motion carried. Five members of the council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Glenn R.
