Motion Ryan, second Gericke to approve liquor permit renewal to Greg Stevens and Terry Miller for Slim’s Tavern. Ayes: Gericke, Bartels, Dils, and Ryan. Absent: Walls. Motion carried. Ed Cole was present to explain his request for change from R-2 to R-2.5 on certain lots in Rolling Hills Estates. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to set Public Hearing for September 13, 2000 to consider zoning changes from R-2 to R 2.5 on certain lots in Rolling Hills Estates Subdivision. Ayes: Ryan, Bartels, Dils and Ryan. Absent: Walls. Motion carried. Planning and Zoning Meeting set for August 16, 200 to consider plans proposed for Tiffin west presented by Ed Cole and Tom Lawrence. Manufactured homes expected to be planned on lots size 60’ X 125’. Motion Bartels, second Ryan to recess the regular meeting at 7:02 p.m. for the purpose of conducting a PUBLIC HEARING in regard to request to change zone R-3 zone to R-2.5 in the property owned by Melvin and Hazel Reeve north of Highway 6 and east of Reeve’s Subdivision and extending in an easterly direction. There were no citizens present to speak either in favor of or against said proposal. No written comments were received by the city. Public Hearing closed 7:05 p.m. Motion Bartels, second Ryan to approve a RESOLUTION #2000-15 approving a rezoning request to change from R-3 to R 2.5 on property owned by Melvin and Hazel Reeve on the north side of Highway #6 on the east edge of the city. Ayes: Bartels, Ryan, Dils, and Gericke. Absent: Walls. Motion carried. Motion Ryan, second Gericke to approve application by the City of Tiffin for REAP and Open Spaces grant with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Ayes: Gericke, Bartels, Ryan and Dils. Motion Ryan, second Bartels to approve sign design showing I-80 intersect and logo, “Crossroads of the Heartland,” and to direct Public Works Director to follow up this effort.
