Questions were raised on maintenance of undeveloped building sites within` City and occupancy of unfinished homes. Members discussed the responsibility of monitoring compliance issues within the City. " Mayor Phillips reported that discussion and approval of a Building Official was on the regular City Council agenda for August 13, 2008. This approval would help the city better monitor these issues. t New Business: Hwy 6 Underpass- discussion held regarding safe passage of pedestrian traffic under Hwy 6 near Clear Creek Amana Schools. Members discussed continuing need for safety of students and members of the public crossing Hwy 6. Members expressed desire to put in the structure during the 2009 Hwy 6 widening project. City Council member Petersen volunteered to approach School Board for support of Underpass. Motion made by Schmidt seconded by Colvin to adjourn Planning and Zoning Commission and motion by Wright and seconded by Petersen for adjournment of City Council meeting at 7: 38pm.
