CITY OF TIFFIN - Minutes Work Session The Tiffin City Council had a work session on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at City Hall. Mayor Pro-Tem Ryan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Roll Call: Joann Kahler, Jim Bartels, Peggy Upton. Absent: Mayor Berner and Mark Petersen. Also present: Engineer Frederick, Administrator Jackson. Motion Kahler to approve agenda, second Upton. All ayes. Motion carried. General discussion about Grace’s driveway, start time for contractors, sidewalk at school, Deerview Pond, parking around town, Cherry & Oakdale mowing, Public Work Director attendance at meetings, Zender property purchase, electrical bid for installation of lights at city parking lots, paving of Park Road/Jasper Ave from Bella Sala to the I-80 bridge, and school supplies for boil order. Jackson introduced Ashley Jay as candidate employee. Motion Upton to adjourn at 6:58 p.m., second Bartels. All ayes. Motion carried. Mayor Pro-Tem Ryan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call: Joann Kahler, Jim Bartels, Peggy Upton. Absent: Mayor Berner and Mark Petersen. Also present: Attorney Raiber, Engineer Frederick, Administrator Jackson. Motion Upton to approve agenda, second Kahler. All ayes. Motion carried. Mayor Pro-Tem Ryan opened the public hearing for Renaming of Ridge Drive to Ridge Court at 7:02 p.m. Motion Upton to open , second Ryan. All ayes. Motion carried. Connor and Edwards request to rename street to Ridge Drive, Tiffin, IA. No written comments or responses received in City Hall. Mayor Pro-Tem closed the public hearing at 7:04 p.m. Motion Upton to close, second Bartels. All ayes. Motion carried. Mayor Pro-Tem Ryan opened the public hearing for Paving a portion of Park Road/Jasper Ave. at 7:04 p.m. Motion Bartels to open, second Upton. All ayes. Motion carried. Council clarified the paving is from Bella Sala to the I-80 bridge. No written comments or responses received in City Hall. Mayor Pro-Tem closed the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. Motion Kahler to close, second Bartels. All ayes. Motion carried. Motion Upton to approve payables, seconded Kahler. All ayes. Motion carried. Ordinance 2014-357 TIF Creation in the Urban Renewal Area–Hart Dentistry-2nd reading: Motion Bartels to approve, second Upton. Ayes=Kahler, Ryan, Bartels, Upton. Reading passed. Resolution 2014-072 Approving Hart Frederick to Update the Access Plan for HWY 6: Motion Kahler to approve, second Ryan. All ayes. Motion passed. Resolution 2014-073 Approving a Temporary Construction Access Permit for Tiffin Heights: Motion to deny Ryan, second Upton. All ayes. Motion passed.
