Text from the PDF text layer; check the PDF for anything that matters.Advertising – As we approach opening the Rec Center, I am exploring options for promotion
and how to get the word out to the public. One option we have is hosting a live edition of
The Morning Scramble radio show on z102.9 on-site at the Rec Center on the day of our
grand opening (or whatever day we choose). I’m also wanting to set aside some dollars for
an on-going marketing at the Rec Center, and our Tiffin as a whole. As we grow and expand
our events, I think finding ways to get information to new members of the community will
be important.
Recreation Center Staffing
New positions – I have proposed a couple of directions I would like to take Tiffin Parks and
Recreation to help us manage the Recreation Center and our growing population. I would
either suggest we begin hiring in August for two, permanent part-time coordinators hired to
work at up to 29hrs/week, with one of those positions transitioning to full-time within the
next 6 months, or I would suggest we begin hiring in August for a full-time Assistant
Director. In addition, I would like to focus on creating a seasonal, Parks Maintenance
Leader position to free up some of the demand on Public Works, and also improve Parks
and Rec’s efficiency for day-to-day operations involving things like fixing equipment,
managing maintenance of our fields and park spaces, and being the first point of contact
for the other field crew members.
Ball Park Concessions
Concessions for the fiscal year ended on June 30. Our active season this year ran from 4/1-
6/30. This report covers our season, Apri 1 – June 30. Next year I will do a full fiscal year
report since I will have more complete records.
Sales revenue was at $40,032.86 for the season, with Hot Dogs being the most popular
item, coming in at $4,512. Pizza by the slice was on its heels at $4,452 in total sales. On the
expense side, we had approximately $12,000 in staff hours, and all expenses came in at
$19,089.53. Adding those together we were at approximately $31,089.53 in expenses.
Concessions Net Revenue is $8,943.33 for the season. I’m really excited about this
considering we had 3 and a half days worth of tournament cancelations, and another 4
regular season game night cancelations, so we could have done even better. Staff really
improved as the season went on, and we were consistently balancing our drawer at the end
of each shift. I’m proud of our team and looking forward to improving next season.
