Parks
Ball field rentals have slowed down but will pick back up in September for several fall
tournaments. The next focus will be on preparing soccer and flag football fields for fall
sports.
Programs
Flag football, volleyball, and a variety of other youth programs for pre-k and kindergarten
age groups are starting in August/September. Registration will be closing in the coming
weeks.
Sand volleyball continues to be successful. The first session wrapped up in mid-July, and
our second session started on 7/22. We had another 8 teams sign up, so another session
with a full league. Slow Pitch Softball registration is currently open.
Events
Tiffin Summer Social – Parties in the Park events have been successful. The Movie Night on
July 18 had approximately 300 people come through the park based on how many ice
cream sandwiches and freeze pops were handed out. The Polka in the Park event was also
successful on 7/24. We’ve heard from a lot of residents that they’ve been enjoying the
events. It’s been a City-wide team effort, and I’m really excited to see these events grow.
REC Fest will have the 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run on Friday evening, August 7. As of
7/29 we have 47 early registrations between the 5k and 1 mile fun run. Last year we had 22
early registrations total prior to the day of the event.
The bags tournament has only 1 team currently registered, but that looks to be the same as
last year where most teams sign up the day of the event.
