Present: Wayne Stratton, Glenn Potter, Ted Spivey, Bob Svatos, Bill Verry
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Old Business:
Sewer. In order to draft the resolution of necessity we will have to draw up a schedule of assessments. In order to do that, we have to have the dimensions of every lot in town. This list will be posted, and property owners will have a certain length of time in which to make any corrections. If there are no corrections within ten days, we assume that it is correct. We hope to get this information from the County Auditor's books. Powers & Associates will be ready with the estimate this month; it has to be within 10%. Then, Powers & Associates, Bill Tucker and the Mayor will have to meet; the mayor has to furnish a corrected plat. After the list of assessments has been posted and corrected, it will be up to Mr. Powers and Mr. Tucker to decide how soon we can have the hearing on the Resolution of Necessity.
Street Damage. No concrete company representative was present at the meeting, so the mayor will talk to Mr. Tucker to see what damage costs should be asked, on the basis of the condition of the streets before the cement company arrived and Pelling's estimate on the two streets (Railroad and Main) last month. Wayne moved that a temporary embargo lasting at least until the next meeting and possibly extending longer on the full length of Railroad Street, and Main Street from Railroad to Second Street, be put in force.
