Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, Tiffin, Iowa, April 1, 1964 Present: Wayne Stratton, Ted Spivey, Glen Potter, Bill Verry XXXXXX Bob Svatos The meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. OLD BUSINESS: Sewer. The Mayor reported on his trip to Des Moines and discussion of our sewer project with Ray Ellender of Carlton Beh Company. From the information given to him, Mr. Ellender will prepare their proposed financing plan and present it to the Council at a special meeting to be scheduled. Another method of financing which is being investigated is that of hiring Chapman and Cutler, bonding attorneys in Chicago who handle most of the school bond elections in Iowa, to print our bonds and the town itself would sell them. Natural Gas. The Clerk was directed to write to Bill Owens, Investigating Officer, Iowa-Illinois Light & Power, Iowa City, to have him check on the availability of gas service to Tiffin. This survey is reputed to be free of charge. NEW BUSINESS: Wayne moved, Glen seconded the motion that the beer permit for the Lark be approved. Carried. The Lark (beer permit) $309.54 Bob moved, Glen seconded the motion that DeWaine should receive 10¢ a mile plus meal expenses if he wishes to attend the police school in Burlington. Carried.
