Minutes of Special Council Meeting, August 14, 1964 Present: Wayne Stratton, Bill Bream, Glen Potter Absent: Bill Verry, Ted Spivey The meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole for the purpose of budget hearing. There were no objectors present; Wayne moved, Glen seconded the motion to accept the budget as published. Carried. Glen moved that Glenn Construction Company be informed to go ahead with construction of sewer lines. Bill seconded the motion. Carried. Wayne moved that insurance on the shed be placed with Sharon Mutual at a lower rate with greater coverage; Glenn seconded the motion. Carried. Glen moved, Wayne seconded the motion to pay Noel Tree Surgery immediately for removing the tree by Fiagle's. Carried. Glen made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Wayne. Carried. Margie O'Toole TOWN CLERK Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, September 3, 1964 Present: Bill Bream, Bill Verry, Ted Spivey, Glen Potter, Wayne Stratton Absent: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor O'Toole. Minutes of previous meetings were read. OLD BUSINESS: Sewer. Ted moved that the previous pending motion to hold the Glenn Construction Company bid be approved. Glen seconded the motion. Carried. Glen moved to accept the bid of Sammons (John W.) Construction Company of Keokuk, Iowa for construction of the sewage plant under Engineering Change Order. Bill Bream seconded the motion. Carried. Sammons was able to lower his bid by making Change Orders in the engineering specifications through consultation with Elmer Wood, through purchase of equipment through Elmer Wood, and by shelving the pond for the time being. NEW BUSINESS: Glen moved, Ted seconded the motion to accept the following money: $50.00 . Madden's Grocery (cig. permit) $354.95 . County Treas. (taxes) 201.77 . State Comptroller (street) 40.00 . assessment, to be assigned to Recreation Fund $646.72
