Bill Verry made a motion we cancel the $500.00 warrant that was issued to Leona Rogers by the town as an option on her property. Glenn Potter seconded the motion and it carried. Ted Spivey made a motion we designate the Iowa State Bank and Trust Company as a depository for our sewer rental money. Glenn Potter seconded the motion and it carried. The council received a report from Richard Thornton of the State Department of Health on our wastewater treatment pond making the following recommendations: 1. To construct an effluent polishing pond 2. To certify a plant operator 3. To make the street leading to the sewer plant an all weather road. Mayor Stratton read his reply to this letter assuring Mr. Thornton that all suggestions were under consideration. Glenn Potter made a motion that we send in the $3.00 fee to the Department of Health to certify DeWaine Slade as plant operator. Bill Verry seconded the motion and it carried. Bud Gough attended the meeting. He and Carl Langenberg are planning to build a feed store in town and he was inquiring what town restrictions were involved. Mayor Stretton cited the town ordinance to him. Mr. Gough said he would be interested in obtaining the land next to Spivey's Locker, keeping with the request by Mayor Stratton that the building be on or near a farm to market road. There, it would be adjacent to another business establishment rather than between two houses. The type of building he had in mind was a 40 X 60 ft. aluminum building.
