Councilman Spivey then introduced and read the following resolution and moved that said resolution be approved, which motion was seconded by Councilman Allen: RESOLVED, that the Report of Canvassing Board of the Special Election of Legal Electors of the Town of Tiffin, Iowa, held on the 11th day of June 1968, as here presented and read, be and the same is hereby approved and accepted. FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council finds that Ordinance No. 59 granting a gas franchise to Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company, submitted for approval as aforesaid, was approved by a majority vote of the qualified electors voting at said election, and accordingly said Ordinance is hereby declared to be in full force and effect. A roll being called on said motion, the following councilmen voted "Aye": Ned Allen Fred Moore Ted Spivey and the following councilmen voted "Nay": None The Mayor thereupon declared the motion carried by a unanimous vote of the Council.
