K-11 - Purchase of Ditch Witch Vacuum Excavator

AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: April 2, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Purchase of Ditch Witch Vacuum Excavator and Council Action as Needed ACTION: Motion SYNOPSIS: Attached is a quote from Ditch Witch of Minnesota and Iowa for the Vacuum Excavator that was discussed during our budget process. This piece of equipment is currently in the possession of the City. Ditch Witch is allowing the City to use/rent the machine until July 1st with all of the rent being applied to the purchase price. The reason for this is due to the demand for these vacuum excavators. Without this option (rent applied to purchase price) the City would have to wait until at least September for a machine to become available. The total cost of the machine due in July would be $57,278.95. We will not be purchasing either of the two options listed at the bottom of the following page.
