Oxford, IA – The Johnson County Conservation Department will be hosting a public open house on
Tuesday, May 4 to discuss the upcoming Clear Creek Trail extension to F.W. Kent Park. The open house
will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Conservation Education Center at F.W. Kent Park. Attendees will
be requested to wear a mask while in the building.
Staff from Stanley Consultants and Confluence will be on hand to exhibit route details and renderings from
key components in the trail design. The trail corridor will require bridges, a potential underpass, retaining
walls and other aspects which the public will be able to provide comment on. The planning process is an
important opportunity to gather input from the community.
This open house is part of a comprehensive planning process that also includes representatives from the
Iowa DOT, Johnson County Secondary Roads Department, Iowa Interstate Railroad, Johnson County
Conservation Board, and Johnson County Conservation staff.
The extension of the Clear Creek Trail to F.W. Kent Park will expand the ever growing regional trail
network connecting Iowa City, Coralville, Tiffin, and North Liberty with destination points that offer
additional recreational opportunities and family experiences. Join us to share your input on this important
trail development project.
