K-3 - Special Events Application - Girls on the Run 5K

Girls On The Run would like to have their 5K race on the Clear Creek Trail. Our official 5K Celebration that was supposed to happen in Cedar Rapids was canceled due to COVID. This would not be a large event for the city. We are a team of 18 girls ranging from 3rd to 5th grade. Each girl will have a running buddy with them who is over the age of 18. The run would be May 22nd and start at 9:00. Most girls will be finished within 45 minutes. We would like to put a couple signs along the trail to mark our course. We would also like to put up a sign or two by the baseball fields letting people know we will be using the trail. We will be respectful of all other people who may be biking or walking on the trail that day. If the City is OK with it, we would also like to use some side walk chalk to help mark the route and put a some positive and uplifting messages for the for girls along the way. The coaches would do this the night before or early morning of our run. We would start running by the soccer field and go down the section that goes out by the interstate first. Come back and cross over South Park Road. We would like to have a water station at the bottom of the hill off to the side of the trail (nothing big, just a card table that will be watched by one of the coaches husband). We would continue on the trail past the ball fields and dog park to Mehem Street to get one the other section of the trail. We would have a 2nd smaller water station by the parking lot on Ireland (that will also be watched by an adult) and this would be our second turn around point. We would finish at the 1st first water station. We will be using crate paper for girls to cross a finish line and handing out their medals. After a few picture and some snacks, we will make sure the area is clean and pick up the signs. Below is a map of our intended route. Please let me know if there is anything we would need to adjust.
