300 Railroad St. PO Box 259 Tiffin, IA 52340 P. 319-545-2572 F. 319-545-4147 www.tiffin-iowa.org PROCLAMATION BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN Building and Code Staff Appreciation Day September 1, 2026 WHEREAS, building and code professionals play an essential role in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of residents and visitors by ensuring that buildings, structures, and development within our community meet established safety standards; and WHEREAS, building officials, inspectors, plans examiners, code enforcement personnel, and other development services staff work diligently to administer and enforce building codes, zoning regulations, property maintenance standards, and other requirements that contribute to safe, accessible, and well-planned communities; and WHEREAS, these professionals serve as an important resource to property owners, contractors, developers, businesses, and residents, providing guidance and assistance throughout the construction, renovation, and development process; and WHEREAS, effective code administration requires extensive knowledge, continued education, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to fairness and consistency; and WHEREAS, building and code staff frequently work behind the scenes and in challenging conditions to identify potential hazards, address violations, review plans, conduct inspections, and help ensure that construction and development are completed safely and responsibly; and WHEREAS, strong building and code services help foster public confidence, protect property values, support responsible growth, and contribute to the long-term quality and sustainability of our community; and WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin recognizes the dedication and professionalism of the individuals who serve our community through building inspection, code enforcement, plans examination, zoning, and related development services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the City of Tiffin, Iowa, hereby recognizes September 1, 2026 as Building and Code Staff Appreciation Day and encourages all residents, businesses, contractors, developers, and community partners to join us in expressing appreciation to the dedicated professionals who help keep our community safe, compliant, accessible, and growing responsibly.
