BUSINESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL BONDURANT, IOWA AGENDA STATEMENT ITEM TITLE: Consideration of Resolution approving the Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Polk County Sheriff CONTACT PERSON: Marketa Oliver, City Administrator SUMMARY EXPLANATION: A subcommittee including the Mayor and Council Members Elrod and Cox, was formed to review the Polk County Law Enforcement agreement. They met on this issue and recommend approving the agreement, with the guidance that by the end of the 10-year agreement, the City will review the possibility of establishing a Police Department and develop a plan and timeline to do so. The City Attorney has reviewed the agreement. The agreement includes additional patrol, scheduled into the agreement as the City grows. There is also language that enables to the City to collaborate with the County on additional patrol at different intervals other than those programmed into the agreement if the need arises.
