CHAPTER 165 ZONING REGULATIONS 13. Words beginning with “M” A. “Main building” means a building in which is conducted the principal use of the lot upon which it is situated. B. “Main use” means the principal use to which the premises are devoted. C. “Manufactured home” means a factory-built dwelling that is manufactured or constructed under the authority of 42 U.S.C. Section 5403, Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards. To qualify as a manufactured home under this Zoning Code it must not be constructed with a permanent hitch or other device allowing it to be moved, other than for the purpose of moving to a permanent site, and it must not have permanent wheels or axles. A mobile home constructed to the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards is not a manufactured home unless it has been converted to real property and is taxed as a site-built dwelling as is provided in Chapter 427A of the Code of Iowa. For the purpose of any of these regulations, manufactured homes are the same as a single-family detached dwelling. D. “Mobile home” means any vehicle without motive power used or so manufactured or constructed as to permit its being used as a conveyance upon the public streets and highways and so designed, constructed, or reconstructed as will permit the vehicle to be used as a place for human habitation by one or more persons; but also includes any such vehicle with motive power not CODE OF ORDINANCES, TIFFIN, IOWA - 1477 -
