CHAPTER 155 BUILDING CODES 155.01 Building Codes Adopted 155.06 Adoption of the International Residential Code, 155.02 Adoption of the International Fire Code, 2024 Edition 2024 Edition 155.07 Amendments to the Internation Residential Code 155.03 Amendments to the International Fire Code 155.08 Adoption of the International Property 155.04 Adoption of the International Building Code, Maintenance Code, 2024 Edition 2024 Edition 155.09 Amendments to the International 155.05 Amendments to the International Building Code Property Maintenance Code 155.01 BUILDING CODES ADOPTED. 1. The following listed codes, including any amendments thereto, are also hereby adopted for all residential and nonresidential building construction in the City: A. International Fire Code, 2024 Edition B. International Building Code, 2024 Edition C. International Residential Code, 2024 Edition D. International Property Maintenance Code, 2024 Edition E. State Plumbing Code F. State Mechanical Code G. Fuel Gas contained in the State Plumbing Code H. State Electrical Code I. State of Iowa Energy Conservation Code 2. The City shall maintain a copy of the codes available for public reference. 155.02 ADOPTION OF THE 2024 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE. Pursuant to published notice and public hearing, as required by law, the International Fire Code, 2024 Edition; published by the International Code Council, is adopted in full except for such portions as may be hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended. A copy of the International Fire Code, 2024 Edition, as adopted, is on file in the offices of the Clerk and the Building Official. 155.03 AMENDENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE. Except as hereinafter modified, that certain fire code, designated International Fire Code, 2024 edition, including Appendix Chapters B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, N, and O as published by the International Code Council, which code is specifically incorporated by reference, is adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Tiffin. The provisions of said Fire Code shall regulate and govern the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; provide for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Code on file in the office of the City are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this CODE OF ORDINANCES, TIFFIN, IOWA - 1285 -
