CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL September 10, 2026 • Neumiller Electric’s subcontractor was onsite Tuesday to begin installing traffic control and erosion control measures, with underground construction expected to begin immediately thereafter. This phase of the project is anticipated to take approximately three to four weeks. The underground work will include installation of the wiring, minor grading, pavement and sidewalk work, pole bases, and seeding of the site. Once this work is completed, the contractor will demobilize from the site while waiting on the delivery of the poles and mast arms. The poles are currently expected to be delivered in approximately two months. Once the poles and mast arms arrive, the contractor will return to complete installation and proceed with startup of the traffic signals. • Work continues to progress on the Forevergreen Road and Jasper Avenue Improvements Project. The contractor is currently working on installing the watermain section that is on the Tiffin side of the project. They have begun to pour the intakes and intake throats on the north leg of the roundabout. • The block walls for the restroom project at Deer View Park have been completed. The next step of the project is for the roof to be constructed. We still anticipate this project being completed yet this fall but depending on the temperatures, full usage of the facility might end up being next spring. • Cade Prior, an Eagle Scout candidate from Clear Creek Amana, will be completing the majority of his Eagle Scout project this weekend. Cade first presented his ‘Tiffin Canopy Project’ to the City Council approximately one year ago, with the goal of further beautifying the community by adding 100 trees throughout Tiffin. Working in partnership with Forevergreen Nursery, Cade successfully sold all 100 trees. On Friday, September 11, the Public Works Department will transport the trees from the nursery to the Green Shed at the Auxiliary Park, which will serve as the tree pickup location. Residents who purchased trees will pick them up on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Cade has done an outstanding job organizing and completing this project, and his efforts will make a lasting contribution to the Tiffin community.
