CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL March 11, 2022 • With there being no specific items to discuss, there will not be a work session on Tuesday night prior to the regular council meeting. • The staking for the Public Works Building site was completed last week. Additional crews started the site prep work earlier this week. • On Monday the packet will include a report and recommended next steps from Dave Schechinger with Veenstra & Kimm on the two test wells. • Item G-1 – Ordinance No. 2022-493 – Weeds and Noxious Growths. This is a complete rewrite of the ordinance. The specific sections Brian Shay and I would like to bring to the council’s attention is 52.05 – Provisions, and 52.09 – Method of Service and Billing. However, Bob and Crystal would like to do a little more research and review of these sections and are recommending to keep the public hearing open until the April 5th council meeting and not have the first reading of the ordinance on Tuesday night. • In the council chambers on Tuesday night will the sample chair for the council to take a look at. This chair is similar to the chairs in the conference room but it has a little higher back on it, reclines and has adjustable armrests so they shouldn’t get scuffed by the edges of the council tables. Please let Abigail know your thoughts on it at the meeting. Delivery is still out about 4-6 weeks. • Although you will get a small council packet on Friday, March 25th, I just wanted to remind everyone of the Special City Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 29th, at 6:00 p.m. for the public hearing and approval of the FY 2022-2023 Budget. • Just a friendly reminder that I will be out of the office March 14th – 18th.
