______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL May 13, 2022 • Progress continues on the Original Town Urbanization project. Grant Street was poured earlier this week, the brick pavers are being installed at the intersection of Main and Second, additional sidewalk has been formed on Second Street and the rock base has been installed on Second Street between Grant and College Street. That portion of Second Street should get poured next week. • Progress also continues on the new Public Works Building as utilities are being run throughout the building site. • I had a really good meeting this week with the DOT and our City Engineer as we talked about the possibly of widening Highway 6 through town but specifically from Main Street to the Roundabout. The DOT has provided MSA with traffic counts for Highway 6 and counts for some specific intersections. With that information, MSA will be working on a concept for the improvement. We also talked at length about proceeding with the intersection and signalization of Kimberlite/Park Entrance and Highway 6. The DOT feels there is still a way to design and construct that intersection while the rest of Highway 6 is being conceptually designed and reviewed. MSA will have a conceptual design completed in about six weeks and the DOT is supposed to have its warrant review of the Kimberlite/Park Entrance and Highway 6 signalization completed by the end of the month. • Abigail and I are still working on the notice for the budget amendment. We hope to have it completed on Monday. The public hearing for the amendment is May 31st which means we will need to have a short special council meeting. As we have done in the past, we can hold this meeting at noon on the 31st if that works best for everyone. • The City’s garden plots have been tilled and are ready to go. Of the 20 plots available, 14 have already been rented. • Just a friendly reminder of the City Wide Clean Up tomorrow from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Please note the change in location to the Tiffin Auxiliary Field parking lot due to the construction of the new Public Works Building.
