______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL June 17, 2022 • Progress continues on the Original Town Urbanization project. LL Pelling put the first lift of asphalt on Second Street last week. Sidewalks and driveway approaches still need to be poured though. Sidewalks on Grant Street between Second and Third Street also still need to be poured. The concrete pan for the brick pavers at the intersection of Second and Grant Street has been completed and is ready for installation of the pavers. • Progress also continues on the new Public Works Building. All the concrete has been poured, the fence and gates have been laid out and prep work continues for the building to go vertical in the weeks to come. • Shawver Well Company has acidized the well and have all of the drilling equipment offsite. They will be bringing in test pumping equipment and plan to do the test pumping on Monday. The acidizing results look promising and the test pumping will give us a good number for production rate. We will use this number to specify our well pump in the plans and specifications that are ready for Phase 2 which includes the pump, meter pit, controls and water main to the water plant. We should be able to submit Phase 2 plans for a construction permit and set the bid date at the next council meeting. • Item G-1, I-1 – As was mentioned at the last meeting, due to a publication error, the public hearing and approval of the FY 2021-2022 budget amendment will take place again on this agenda. The City is still within its window of approval as the deadline is June 30th. The Iowa Department of Management has been notified of the need to redo the process and provided guidance for the republication. • Just a friendly reminder of Tiffin Rec Fest that is scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd. Brianna Wilkerson and Frank Haege have been diligently working on planning this event. They will be giving a full update of the event at the next council meeting.
