______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL July 29, 2022 • There are only a few areas of paving and a small retaining wall on 2nd street that are left to pave in the Original Town Urbanization project. Pelling was in town early in the week to do work on Main Street. They will be back in a couple of weeks to put the second lift on 2nd Street. The seeding window will start in about three weeks which is also when we are hoping to have a punch list developed to finish out the project. • Woodruff continues to make good progress with the new Public Works Building. With most of the materials on site for the building they are working on taking the entire building vertical. • Last week I had a meeting with MSA Professional Services in reference to the potential width expansion of Highway 6. That meeting was followed up with a meeting with the DOT on Monday. A general concept and pavement design was presented by MSA. Generally speaking, both meetings went well. Next steps moving forward are for the DOT to further review the concept and pavement design, determine potential right-of-way impacts and submit the project to the District Program yet this fall for the 2024-2025 construction year. An updated traffic study of the Kimberlite/Highway 6 intersection to include daily counts will also need to be completed. • Tiffin Rec Fest went really well last weekend. In spite of the heat, we had a really good crowd all day. Special thanks to all who attended, the vendors, the City employees who helped setup and work the event and the part-time Park and Recreation employees who also worked the event. An extra special thanks goes to Brianna Wilkerson and Frank Haege for the planning and coordination of the event. We are all looking forward to building on the momentum for next year.
