BUDGET CALENDER Below is the Proposed Budget Calendar for this year’s process. Please mark these dates on your calendar. December/January – Departmental review of current budget and forecast of FY 2024-2025 Budget January 9th – Brief budget work session with City Council. Review of last year’s budget and this year’s priorities January 23rd – Budget work session with City Council January 30th – Budget work session with City Council (if necessary) February 6th – Budget work session with City Council February 20th – Budget work session with City Council. Complete Proposed Tax Rate form March 5th – Submit Proposed Tax Rate form to Iowa Department of Management March 19th – Set Public Hearing for Proposed Tax Rate form April 2nd – Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Rate form and set Notice of Public Hearing for adoption of FY 2024-2025 Budget April 16th – Budget Public Hearing and Adoption April 30th – Certified Budget to County Auditor and filed with the Department of Management July 1st – Certified Budget takes effect
