PHASES 500 & 600: PRELIMINARY DESIGN (30%/60%)
MSA will develop preliminary plans, specifications, and estimates at the 30% and 60% design level phases in the following areas:
• Water Main Design:
o Review extent of existing water main, valves and hydrants.
o Confirm existing infrastructure is not impacted by the new construction.
o Design and prepare plans and construction details for new 12” water main extension on south side of USH 6 from Stephans St to Kimberlite St.
• Roadway Design:
o Develop horizontal and vertical alignments for roadway, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian facilities construction.
o Review pavement design as provided by project subconsultant and develop typical sections, cross sections, and construction details according to the recommendations.
• Stormwater Design:
o Determine storm sewer inlet and discharge locations.
o Develop routing and sizing for storm sewer system.
• Hydraulic Design of Culverts
Full-Detail H/H Design - MSA will complete detailed waterway analyses on two (2) of the roadway crossings at the locations identified below. These locations were identified by MSA through review of aerial photos and GIS data which indicate the presence of what appear to be navigable streams.
• Single cell box culvert located approximately 0.05 miles west of Stephans St.
• Triple cell box culvert located approximately 0.2 miles west of the intersection of Hwy 6 and Park Rd.
Hydraulic sizing of structure will be completed according to the following tasks:
• Determine Design Flow – MSA will estimate 100-yr design peak flow rates using the following methods:
