AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <table> <tr> <th>DATE:</th> <td>March 1, 2024</td> </tr> <tr> <th>AGENDA ITEM:</th> <td>Discussion and Consideration of Purchase of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA’s) for the Tiffin Fire Department and Council Action as Needed</td> </tr> <tr> <th>ACTION:</th> <td>Motion</td> </tr> </table> SYNOPSIS: As you are all aware, the Fire Department has been planning for the replacement of our current SCBA’s (airpacks) for reasons discussed previously with the city council at the October 17, 2023, work session. The department has solicited three vendors for quotes for replacement and has narrowed the selection down to two vendors. Please see the attached quotes from Scott/3M/Feld Fire and MSA/Sandry Fire Supply. Both systems would be a tremendous asset to our department and our community. We have met with both vendors, sampled both systems in a fire and non-fire environment, and met with both vendors again for a follow-up Q&A. At this time, we have not made a selection between the two. However, we anticipate this selection will be made very soon. For this reason, we would appreciate the council's consideration of purchasing one of these two systems for a purchase price not to exceed $245,671.20.
