It should be noted quotes were also updated with the requirement of a Performance and Payment Bond. It is recommended that a Tapco model “RRFB-XL2: AC and Solar/Battery-Powered” be installed at the four proposed locations along the crosswalk. The specific features of these RRFB’s will include; - APS Pedestrian Buttons w/ audio/vibrotactile feedback - Single sided - Solar (AC-Powered) MSA reached out to Advanced Traffic Control and Iowa Plains Signing, who regularly do this type of work in eastern Iowa and are familiar with Tapco traffic systems, having installed systems from this manufacturer previously. Additionally, MSA reached out to two other electrical contractors per the City’s request including Neumiller Electric, Price Electric, and Steve Electric. MSA received cost estimates back which include both materials, installation, P&P bond, and certificate of insurance, see the table below for cost estimates. Contractor Price Expiration Date of Quote Advanced Traffic Control $30,000.00 April 14, 2024 (Willing to extend) Iowa Plains Signing $36,750.00 May 15, 2024 Price Electric $42,550.00 April 17, 2024 (Willing to extend) Neumiller Electric (Verbal) $47,500.00 N/A Steves Electric No response.
