______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL August 3, 2024 • Item K-5 – I am still waiting for the definitive dates from Boomerang for the noise waiver for their project on I-380. I should have that information on Monday. • The contract for the Hotel Feasibility Market Study has been signed and returned to Core Distinction. The study should be completed within the next 30-45 days. The relationship the City has with Retail Strategies was beneficial for this contract and will keep us at the $15,000 threshold. • We are working with and getting bids from Nuemiller Electric and Alliant Energy to install diffusers in the detention/retention pond that is north of Oakdale Boulevard and east of Cherry Lane. This is work that is budgeted for and was the next detention/retention pond on the list of the ponds the City is responsible for to be upgraded. • Last year we met with a CCA student who was looking for an Eagle Scout project that he could do in Tiffin. After brainstorming several ideas, the project that he landed on was to install another bench on the north side of the Big Pond. As a council, this was something we discussed during the budget process this past year. The project ended up getting all the approvals it needed and the student is ready to get started. Although we don’t have a specific timeline for the completion yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if sometime around the start of the school year, the project is finished. • Just a friendly reminder that Tuesday is National Night Out. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting this event in Deerview Park as they did last year.
