CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR WORK SESSION ITEMS
May 30, 2025
• At the work session on Tuesday night, we will have a presentation on License Plate Readers
(LPRs) for the City. This is an item that Council Person Schnedler has been researching
and has briefly come up in council meetings discussions although it has been a little while
since it was last discussed. The presentation is meant to be informational to see if this
initiative would have merit in Tiffin as the use of these LPR’s are gaining in popularity.
Presenters/participants in this presentation and discussion will include Sheriff Kunkel and
Sergeant Hynes from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Chief Venenga and
Lieutenant Ross from the North Liberty Police Department. Again, the presentation and
discussion is meant to help educate on the benefits of LPR technology, particularly how it
can aid in solving crimes and locating missing individuals.
• Time permitting, I’d like to start the discussion for the options of the traffic signal at
Village Drive and Roberts Ferry Road.
