Text from the PDF text layer; check the PDF for anything that matters.• Whichever direction the City goes with the fire station, a realistic timeline needs to be
established.
o As mentioned previously, this is a priority for the fire department and the
hope is that it is a priority for the City as well. The department has
outgrown its current station. Future city growth and future department
staffing rely on a new fire station.
• Should the City be pursuing ground on the far west end of town for future expansion of
the fire station even if that is several years down the road?
o The City should continue to focus on master planning for city resources as
future developments occur. Compared to a more centralized location, if
the site on Bailey Way/Forevergreen is chosen, a second station on the
west side of town will likely be required sooner.
• Should the City spend the money to hire a firm to perform a strategic plan for the fire
department to include facilities, personnel/staffing levels, future calls for service and
current and future coverage areas?
o Ultimately this is a city council decision, but additional data and validation
from a third party is always welcome.
