CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
May 16, 2025
• Items I-7 and I-8 – These items are back on the agenda as the proposed buyers of the
property needed to make some changes to both agreements to be more site specific to
their project. Both agreements have been reviewed and partially revised by Crystal.
• Item K-2 – Due to a mathematical clerical error, this item is back on the agenda with the
corrected amount for the pay application.
• Item K-5 – This Memorandum of Understanding is to allow progress to continue for the
Homemakers project while the attorney’s draft a final agreement that describes the MOU
into more detail. That agreement will come back to the council for formal approval
within the next couple of meetings.
• I received communication from the Special Census Management Team confirming that
they have been granted a temporary hiring waiver, enabling them to hire temporary field
staff to support the Special Census program through the remainder of the 2025 calendar
year. What that means for us is the earliest our Special Census could be conducted is
October 19, 2025. However, the internet self-response period would begin
approximately one month prior to the official Census Day, with field data collection
starting shortly thereafter. The next step is to meet with the Census team to review the
revised schedule and determine the appropriate follow-up actions moving forward.
• The box culvert/pedestrian tunnel for the North Park Road Project is supposed to be
delivered on May 21st. Boomerang is currently working on the storm sewer and
watermain work around the box culvert. Traffic seems to have somewhat normalized
around the road closure as we’ve had far less concerns and complaints over the last 10
days.
• Work has gone well on the widening of Roberts Ferry Road for the turn lanes onto West
Village Drive. Dirt work behind the curbs and striping of the road will continue next
week.
• Just a friendly reminder that the Mayor, Council Person Schnedler and I will be at the
ICSC Economic Development Conference Monday – Wednesday of next week. We will
all remote into the council meeting on Tuesday night.
• We are still working on K-1. As soon as it is finished on Monday, it will be inserted into
the packet.
