______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL May 30, 2025 • Item I-2 – This resolution reiterates the City Council’s 2023 resolution of support for the same project and application for workforce housing tax credits. The current application divides the project into phases, which is reflected in the reduced number of units (39) included in phase 1. The City's financial contribution, which will come from the fees collected through each building permit, will only be required if the application is successful. • The preconstruction meeting last week for the water treatment plant upgrade project went well. Tricon is anticipating starting the project next week. • Work on the East Village Drive extension began last week and is progressing nicely. Sanitary sewer installation is underway and the road layout is starting to take shape. We are continuing to evaluate the slope in front of the water tower, along with the potential height, length, and size of the proposed retaining wall. MSA and Brain Engineering are currently exploring alternative scenarios that could either reduce the wall’s height or potentially eliminate the need for it altogether. I expect to have additional updates on this for Tuesday night’s meeting. • As was reported at the last council meeting, work has started on the Recreation Center site. Topsoil is being stripped and stockpiled and should be finished yet this week. Fill dirt to raise the site will start being brought in next week with the installation of utilities starting on June 11th. • Work has been completed for the widening of Roberts Ferry Road for the turn lanes on Village Drive. We had a walk-through of the project on Wednesday morning. MSA has developed a punchlist of items that need to be completed or still need attention. Once the punchlist has been worked through, at least a portion of the escrow from the final plat approval will be released.
