160.03 LANDS TO WHICH CHAPTER APPLIES
The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all lands and uses which have significant flood hazards. The Flood Boundary and Floodway Map and the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Panels 154, 158, 159, 160, 166, and 167, dated February 16, 2007, which were prepared as part of the Flood Insurance Study for Johnson County and the City, shall be used to identify such flood hazard areas and all areas shown thereon to be within the boundaries of the 100-year flood shall be considered as having significant flood hazards. Where uncertainty exists with respect to the precise location of the 100-year flood boundary, the location shall be determined on the basis of the 100-year flood elevation at the particular site in question. The Flood Insurance Study is hereby adopted by reference and is made a part of this chapter for the purpose of administering flood plain management regulations.

Dates: an Iowa ordinance takes effect when it is published after adoption. Where the clerk's certificate records the publication date it is used; otherwise the adoption date stands in for it. "Not yet consolidated" means the ordinance amends this section but its new text has not been checked into this compilation yet: read the ordinance.
