ACTION: Motion
Background:
During construction, unstable subgrade materials were encountered at Third Street and Main
Street. To ensure long-term pavement performance, the project engineer recommended subgrade
stabilization using an additional 6 inches of subbase material with geogrid reinforcement.
Contract Impact
• Previous Contract Total: $2,253,983.00
• Change Order No. 7: +$41,365.91
• New Contract Total: $2,295,348.91
• Time Extension: +2 calendar days
• Revised Completion Date: September 30, 2025
Recommendation
Staff recommend that the City Council approve Change Order No. 7 in the amount
of $41,365.91 to Rathje Construction Co. for the Original Town Urbanization Phase 3 project.
