CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
September 12, 2025
• As was mentioned last week, North Park Road was opened up to two-way traffic a little
earlier than expected. All the signage was modified or removed, striping of the
pavement was completed and the necessary barricades and delineators were installed so
the road officially opened last Friday afternoon. The project is now completed for this
construction season and working days have stopped being counted. The project will
resume next spring as weather permits.
• As of this week, the second batch of Census mailers was sent out on September 10th.
The online self-response rate is currently at 15%, just one week after the portal opened.
If you live in a home built after 2020, you may not receive a letter inviting you to
respond online. Don’t worry, you’ll still be counted! A Census representative will visit
these residences during the door-to-door phase to collect the information. All
workstations, phones, and office spaces are fully set up and ready for the Census
Bureau’s crew to arrive. Please note that the City Council Chambers will be unavailable
until the census concludes in December.
• With the official start of the Special Census, at least our next five council meetings will
be held at the Springmier Community Library as the council chambers are being used by
the census bureau team.
• Late last week we had the 70% preliminary review of the plans and specifications for the
Forevergreen Road/Jasper Avenue Improvements project. The meeting went well and
the project is still on schedule for a winter bid letting with construction to start in the
spring.
• Just a friendly reminder, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Recreation Center is on
Tuesday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m. We believe all the details have been worked
through for the event and a press release has been sent out to the local news media
outlets.
