September 9, 2025 Tiffin Fire Department Members, Administrator Boldt, Mayor Kasparek, and Council Members City of Tiffin / Tiffin Fire Department 300 Railroad St Tiffin, IA 52340 RE: Hill – Resignation/Retirement Tiffin Fire Department Members, Administrator Boldt, Mayor Kasparek, and Council Members: Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from the position of Fire Chief for the City of Tiffin. effective December 31, 2025. After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to move on to the next chapter of my life. At the end of the year, I am retiring after more than 11 years of service with the Tiffin Fire Department. It has been an honor to serve alongside an exceptional team of dedicated, community-minded individuals. The men and women of this department—both past and present—consistently go above and beyond, sacrificing their time, safety, health, sleep, and family commitments to protect and serve the residents of Tiffin, as well as Clear Creek and Union Townships. Their selflessness and professionalism are the backbone of this department, and I am deeply proud to have served with them. They are a true asset to the community. Throughout my time here, I’ve also had the opportunity to serve alongside our outstanding mutual aid partners, fire and safety leaders throughout Johnson County, and many dedicated elected officials. It has been a privilege. With an eye towards the future, it is my understanding that the city administrator, city council, and mayor have determined that a full-time fire chief is in the best interest of the city. I am committed to making this transition as seamless as possible and am willing to assist wherever needed. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve, for the trust that has been placed in me, and for the lasting relationships and unforgettable experiences that I have had while serving as a member of the Tiffin Fire Department. Regards, Brad Hill Fire Chief Tiffin Fire Department
