PROJECT UPDATE
NORTH PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS – JAMES WATTERS
Plan sheets for adjustments required to accommodate the Homemakers site and the Olde Town site have
been issued for construction as of January 22nd. Change orders are currently being drafted, and all quantity
changes will be managed separately for each site.
During a meeting to discuss these plan changes, Boomerang project managers indicated that they hoped to
resume construction on water main west of North Park Road on February 16th, 2026. This work will
eventually require the closure of Mopar Drive for the water main crossing. It is not yet known if this closure
will be a temporary closure just for the water main crossing, or if the crossing will be finished when North
Park Road is closed in the Spring. When the Mopar closure date is known, MSA will notify the City and
provide appropriate exhibits to illustrate alternate routes to residents if required.
Regarding the future closure of North Park Road, per the Suspension of Working Days request from Fall
2025, the closure of North Park Road will be permitted only when the detour to Roberts Ferry can safely
accommodate the increase in traffic and roads are clear of snow and ice. When this date is known, MSA will
notify the City and CCACSD officials with a minimum of two weeks’ notice. MSA will also provide exhibits
illustrating the closure and detour. All school facilities will remain accessible from Highway 6 through
project completion.
Additionally, a meeting to coordinate construction between the North Park Road project and the
Homemakers site is scheduled for February 17th. Topics will include storm and water main connections,
work in the right-of-way, site access, and grading. An optional invitation to this meeting has been sent to
City personnel and an agenda will be sent prior to the meeting.
Until work resumes, MSA staff continues to monitor the site. Traffic and erosions control measures remain
functioning and in compliance. No new work has been performed on-site as of this update.
Payment Applications will be submitted each month throughout the winter when/if work has been done. If
no work is done, the City will be informed that no Payment Application is required.
