NOTICE TO BIDDERS PROJECT: TIFFIN PARKS AND RECREATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN — PHASE I, TIFFIN, IA BID DATE: Bids are due at 2: 00 P. M., March 31, 2016 Bids will be opened at 2: 00 P. Box 259, Tiffin, IA, 52340 Attn: Tiffin Parks and Recreation Improvements Plan — Phase I Phone # 319- 545- 2572 DESCRIPTION OF The project shall consist of providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to install the work as defined as WORK: follows: The scope of work shall entail construction of a new park at the corner of Deer View Avenue and Jackson Street called " Deer View Park," construction of a new park at the corner of Oakdale Boulevard and Cherry Lane called " Woodfield Park," installation of thefirst phase of a new Dog Park located in City Park, installation of a new lighting system forfields 3 and 4 located at City Park, and installation of a new tennis - court facility and concession stand near the soccer fields also located in City Park. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION Estimated Construction Cost: TBD COST SALES TAX The Bidder is eligible to receive an exemption from the State of Iowa Sales Tax. The City expects the EXEMPTION Contractor to obtain the Sales Tax Exemption from the City. State of Iowa Sales Tax shall NOT be included in the bid. BID GUARANTY: Bid Bond, Cashiers or Certified Check or Credit Union Certified Share Draft, in the amount of 10% of the bid. COMPLETION Work shall commence within ten ( 10) calendar days after receipt of the written " Notice to Proceed". All work DATE: shall be substantially complete by October 15, 2016, subject to any time extension that may be granted by the Council. PERFORMANCE/ PAYMENT One hundred percent ( 100%) of the bid, with a maintenance period of three ( 3) years from the time of final MAINTENANCE project acceptance by the Owner. BOND: PAYMENTS: Monthly estimates equivalent to ninety- five percent ( 95%) of the Contract value of the work completed during the preceding calendar month with 5% retainage. Remaining retainage, if any, will be paid within 30 days after final acceptance by the City.
