CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, RESOLUTION NO. 2000-18 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR TO INSPECT, APPROVE, AND RELEASE PROPERTIES OF SIDEWALK REQUIREMENTS AND RELIEVING THE CITY ENGINEER FROM SAID RESPONSIBILITY WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin, from time to time may enter into various Agreements with certain individuals, developers, or subdividers for real estate improvements to subdivisions, that include certain provisions for installation of sidewalks within the City of Tiffin, Iowa; WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin desires to grant authority to the City Building Inspector to release properties as to sidewalk requirements in agreements and to execute all sidewalk releases on behalf of the City of Tiffin; AND FURTHER, the City of Tiffin desires to relieve the City Engineer from the responsibility of releasing sidewalks and to continue the City Attorney's responsibility to prepare and approve sidewalk releases. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA, that hereafter, the Tiffin City Engineer is relieved from his responsibilities to release properties from sidewalk requirements. Further, the City Building Inspector is authorized to inspect, approve, and release properties within the city limits, as to sidewalk requirements only, as may be required by various agreements the City entered into with developers, individuals, or subdividers. The City Attorney shall be responsible for the preparation and approval of said sidewalk releases. ON THE 8th day of November, 2000, at a regular (regular/special) meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Bartels introduced A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR TO INSPECT, APPROVE, AND RELEASE PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AS TO REQUIREMENTS OF SIDEWALK INSTALLATIONS ONLY, and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Ryan. Ayes: Bartels, Dils, Walls, Ryan and Gericke. Nays: None. Motion carried. WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared that the A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING INSPECTOR TO INSPECT, APPROVE, AND RELEASE PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AS TO REQUIREMENTS OF SIDEWALK INSTALLATIONS ONLY, AS PREPARED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY AND FURTHER, TO RELIEVE CITY ENGINEER FROM SAID RESPONSIBILITY, be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
