TOWN OF TIFFIN TIFFIN, IOWA 52340 Minutes of the regular Council meeting, October 3, 1973, 8:30 p.m., City of Tiffin, Tiffin, Iowa. Mayor Stratton presiding. Councilman present: Kandy Kobold, Bev Birtcher, Ted Spivey, Roger Janssen and Glenn Potter. Attorney Neuzil present. Glenn Potter moved to approve minutes. Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Mr. and Mrs. John Chapman present to discuss a building permit for a garage. Bev Birtcher moved tentative approval of this building permit subject to some proof that the building will be located on the applicant's property. Glenn Potter seconded the motion. Motion carried. Discussion on dead trees. Roger Janssen moved to have Bev Birtcher get bids for removal of dead trees that are located on city property. Kandy Kobold seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ralph Brown is to check to see if it is legal to have water and sewage labs together. Bob Martin is to give water samples to Ralph Brown to take to Water Quality for check of iron in water. Glenn Potter moved to accept an agreement with Glenn Shoemaker as City Engineer for the City of Tiffin. Bev Birtcher seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Roger Janssen moved to approve the Federal Revenue Sharing Planned Expenditures for July 1, 1973 to June 30, 1974. Glenn Potter seconded the motion. Motion carried by roll call vote. Glenn Potter moved to pass a resolution to adopt an ordinance for Sunday liquor sales. Roger Janssen seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Bev Birtcher, Nay; Kandy Kobold, Aye; Ted Spivey, Nay; Glenn Potter, Nay; Roger Janssen, Aye. Glenn Potter moved to accept the following receipts. Bev Birtcher seconded the motion.
