Minutes-06/09/1976

The Tiffin City Council met in regular session on June 9, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. Mayor Brotherton presiding. Roll call was taken at 8:45 p.m. after open forum discussion. Councilmembers present: Potter, Morgan and Formanek. Absent: Janssen and Stratton. Also present: Atty. Neuzil, T. Mittman and Charles Lanik. Potter moved to approve the May 25th special meeting minutes, Formanek seconded and motion carried unanimously. Formanek moved to approve the May 12th regular meeting minutes, seconded by Potter and motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Potter to accept the Clerk-Treasurer's financial report, seconded by Morgan and carried unanimously. Formanek moved to accept a lease on property from the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Co. upon compliance with requests for a more defined plat description. Potter seconded and motion carried unanimously. Formanek moved to deny a request for payment of $41.74 required interest on sales tax assessable, to the Iowa Department of Revenue. Potter seconded and motion carried unanimously. Potter moved to adopt a resolution to grant cigarette permits to Shirley A. Thompson, Lark Supper Club; James L. Morehead, the Corral; Cluresa A. Eggers, Slim's; and Thomas P. Hoyt, Tom's Skelly Service, Inc. Morgan seconded and motion carried unanimously. A motion to accept the following receipts and pay the following bills was made by Morgan and seconded by Potter and carried unanimously.
