Minutes-1 /11/1978

The Tiffin City Council met in regular session on January 11, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. Mayor Formanek presiding called the roll at 7:47 p.m. with Councilmembers Potter, Morgan, Sheridan and Janssen present. Also present: Atty. Sladek, Bob and Mary Heron and John Schneider. Councilmember Stratton present at 8:30 p.m. Morgan moved to approve the December 14th regular meeting minutes. Potter seconded and motion carried unanimously. Janssen moved that the December financial statement be accepted. Morgan seconded and motion carried unanimously. Potter moved to approve the January 2nd special meeting minutes. Sheridan seconded and motion carried unanimously. Stratton present. Potter moved to approve the application for a new Class "C" Beer and Liquor permit and cigarette permit effective March 1, 1978 from John C. Schneider, R.D #2, Oxford, Iowa dba Slim's Tavern, 3rd & Main Sts. Janssen seconded and motion carried unanimously. Janssen moved to approve the appointment of Glenn Potter as Mayor Pro-Tem for a two year term. Stratton seconded and motion carried as follows: Ayes - Stratton, Janssen, Morgan and Sheridan. Abstain - Potter. Janssen moved to pay the following bills and accept the following receipts. Stratton seconded and motion carried unanimously.
