Minutes-6 /16/1980

The Tiffin City Council met in special session on Monday, June 16, 1980 at the Tiffin Methodist Church. Mayor Formanek called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Councilmembers present were Madden, Spivey, Rohret. Potter and Williams were absent. Motion by Spivey, second by Madden to approve agenda. Motion carried. Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 57 OF THE ORDINANCES OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SAID ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RATES, CHARGES, AND RULES FOR THE USE AND SERVICE OF THE MUNICIPAL SEWER SYSTEM OF TIFFIN, IOWA was introduced by Spivey. Mayor read Ordinance. Motion by Rohret, second by Spivey to adopt Ordinance. Roll call vote: Madden, aye; Spivey, aye; Rohret, aye. Motion by Rohret that the rule or law requiring three readings on three different dates be dispensed with. Roll call vote: Madden, aye; Spivey, aye; Rohret, aye. Mayor declared ORDINANCE #1980-87 duly passed and adopted. Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 67 OF THE ORDINANCES OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SAID ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RATES, CHARGES, AND RULES FOR THE USE AND SERVICE OF THE MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM OF TIFFIN, IOWA was introduced by Spivey. Ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 74 ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL POSTING PLACES TO PUBLISH AND POST NOTICES AND ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA was introduced by Spivey. Mayor declared ORDINANCE #1980-89 duly passed and adopted. Discussion of four proposed ordinances concerning mobile home parks, prohibiting creation of nuisances, destruction of noxious growths and removal of abandoned vehicles. These proposed ordinances will be introduced for adoption at the regular meeting in July. Motion by Spivey second by Madden to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Motion carried.
