Potter reported that the water main was originally run into the fire station, through a pressure pump, and then run to the high school because the rest of the mains in town were not ready and the fire station and high school needed water right away. There was no shut off on the line to the fire station. A copper line was joined to a galvanized metal line which eventually ate away the copper line and caused a break in the line. The break was repaired with plastic pipe and a stop box was installed. The new part of the building will hook into this line and the sewer line was dug directly into the new part of the building. Potter asked if City would pay for repair of water line. Council consensus to delay decision until bill is received.

Contractor under-estimated time and materials. Engineer has done frequent inspection and required paint to be specified thickness. Anticipated finish date in two weeks. Contractor requests audience with council in order to ask for removal of liquidated damages of $100.00 per day. Engineer stated that council may choose whether or not to see contractor, and engineer was not making any recommendation on matter. Engineer reported that the contractor and the engineer did not see damages on Herdlisk house, but the contractor has been told that there must be an agreement between the contractor and Mrs. Herdliska, satisfactory to Herdliska, before contract is settled. The school property must also be restored to original condition.
